Sjoerd joined Vondst as a lawyer in May 2021. Sjoerd’s work mainly focuses on the patent and life sciences practice group. He litigates and advises at national and European level on patents in various technical fields. Sjoerd is also a registered UPC representative, which allows him to act before the Unified Patent Court.
Sjoerd is an active member of various professional and industry associations including the Intellectual Property Litigation Association (VIEPA), European Patent Lawyers Association (EPLAW), Association Internationale pour la Protection de la Propriété Intellectuelle (AIPPI) and the Amsterdam Young Bar Association.
Sjoerd studied at the University of Amsterdam. He has also been affiliated with the Institute for Information Law (IVIR), a sustainable startup and a legal tech company. Sjoerd is also on the board of Clinic Law Incubator, a legal advice centre with a special focus on information law.
